Fire
Services is EMI’s primary market. As a leader in this market, EMI
continues to combine technology and manufacturing expertise to
improve the quality and reliability of high performance pumping
equipment.
The EMI High Performance Rotary Gear Pump is a world
leader in pumping fire-fighting foam. It should come as no surprise
that EMI is first to introduce Underwriters Labs and Factory Mutual (ul/fm)
foam concentrate and
high-pressure water mist packages. |

 |
|
The EMI High Performance
Rotary Gear Pump is also used in other industries, including pulp
and paper, large vehicle washing, and aircraft deicing. |
|
Industrial
In addition to our own pumps and semiconductor
products and services, EMI represents a group of high-quality
equipment manufacturers for the Northwest industrial market,
including pulp and paper, chemical, light industrial, and food
processing. |

For Your Application
EMI
pumps can be assembled into various configurations to meet our
customers’ needs: water drive, hydraulic drive, portable gas powered
units, and large electrically or diesel driven pump packages are
just a few of the choices we offer.
Our
engineers and assemblers design and craft a pump package to meet
your specific needs. Each individual application is considered when
designing a package for a quote. The quote is then double-checked by
an experienced pumping and applications expert prior to its release.
A customer’s order is matched to the quote, written, and reviewed
again prior to release to production – just another example of the
attention to detail that EMI puts into each package. |

Foam and Water Mist

The
fire protection industry has long known what Underwriters Labs and
Factory Mutual (UL/FM) means to reliable handling of fire protection
fluids. The industry also knows about EMI’s commitment to top
quality, high performance rotary gear pumps. It should come as no
surprise that EMI is first to introduce UL/FM foam concentrate and
high-pressure water mist packages.
Water-pumping systems have been UL-listed and FM-approved for years.
EMI helped bring this industry standard to foam concentrate and
high-pressure water mist systems – we believe it is important to the
evolution of the fire protection industry. |

Now NFPA 20, Standard for the Installation of Fire Pumps
1999, chapter 5, specifically addresses pump types and
corrosion-resistant materials. The pumps must be listed for the
intended service. |
